TheoPad is built as an offline-first application. This means:

• All notes, folder hierarchies, configurations, and settings are saved exclusively on your local device within an SQLite database.
• Your data is never automatically sent or synced to any server owned by us or any third parties.
• No account registration, login, or email validation is required to use the app.

2. Device Permissions

To enable specific offline features, TheoPad may request the following permissions on your mobile device:

• Files and Media Access: Only used when you choose to manually import a Bible translation (EPUB format) or export/import a database backup file.
• Keep Screen On: An optional setting to prevent the device from entering sleep mode while reading or editing notes.

3. Third-Party Sharing

Since we do not collect or store any of your data, no information is shared, sold, or distributed to third parties (such as advertising agencies, analytics services, or cloud providers). The app is entirely ad-free.

4. Backup Security

Because all note contents are kept locally on your phone, you are responsible for maintaining your data. Please use the backup utility inside settings to export your notes periodically and save the backup file to a safe secondary location (like a computer or your personal cloud storage).

5. Web Traffic Logging

This landing page is hosted by netcup GmbH. When you browse this site, the server may automatically capture basic network traffic logs (such as the IP address, browser metadata, date, and time of the request) to guarantee service security and system stability. This is a technical requirement of hosting. We do not use analytics tools (like Google Analytics) or cookies on this website.
